aKa Web Design gets a facelift

Posted on July 16th, 2009 by Arthur Kay

Over the past week or so I’ve been working really hard to redesign my online web design portfolio. I’m happy to say that the new site has launched!

In reality, all I did was rethink the graphics and general layout. Most of the content stayed the same, and only a handful of my structural DIV tags have been touched. I may be a bit biased, but I think the new layout is light years better than what I had before. (This design is in fact the second new design during the past year.)

My main focus for the new design was on:

  • better looking graphics
  • page speed

I also took time to test it across IE6/7/8, Safari (Windows), Firefox 3 and Google Chrome, as well as running W3C validation for all pages. It’s certainly possible that I missed something, so if you look around and notice anything (or have suggestions) please let me know!

Websites evolve just like everything else in this world, so I’m sure this won’t be the last time I launch a new design. On the bright side, this version should last me for a while!
