Free Online Project Management Tool

I’ve been looking for a tool like this for a long time, and I had almost given up hope of finding it: a free, online project management tool. I just found one, and I think it’s worth talking about.

Task Barn is an online tool that allows you to create multiple projects and assign tasks to registered users. Tasks have due dates and will send email reminders at an interval specified by you. Although the projects don’t seem to have any Gantt charts or advanced reporting tools, this is far and away the best totally free project management tool I’ve seen. (Most “free” project management tools are either trial versions or limit the number of projects you can have.)

As a freelance developer, having a project management tool is almost a necessity. Being able to plan tasks and mark them as complete is probably the most important process a freelance developer needs in order to be successful. I don’t collaborate with many people, but having the ability to do so is also a plus.

The bottom line: check out Task Barn.
